On June 30, 2023, the Morristown Police Department received an anonymous call about a drunk driver. Officers located the vehicle parked on the side of the road with the engine still running. A 39-year-old woman was sitting behind the wheel. She claimed to be a nanny who was returning from a job interview. Officers were able to determine that she had been contacted through a childcare app and was due to babysit a child, but she showed up late and the parent of the child was concerned that the woman was impaired. Officers asked the woman to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which showed she was extremely impaired, although she denied consuming any alcohol. At the police station, she submitted to a breath alcohol test. The police report indicates the result was 0.25% BAC, more than 3 times the legal limit.
