‘Wind-up toy’: Danica De Giorgio weighs in on Albanese’s messaging and election campaign so far

Sky News host Danica De Giorgio has commented on the second week of the federal election campaign, suggesting that Opposition Leader Peter Dutton is outperforming Prime Minister Anthony Albanese on crucial issues like the cost of living and energy policy.

“Peter Dutton is really hitting his stride now, and critically, he remains on message when it comes to cost of living,” Ms De Giorgio said.

“The Opposition leader made a good point today about the character assassination attempts by Labor to discredit him and his policies, and he’s right.

“Labor’s strategy has been to paint Dutton as some big bad bully, Trump-esque dictator.

“He is far from it. In fact, it says more about Anthony Albanese’s character. He has no idea what to say when he is not talking about Peter Dutton – or waving his Medicare card around.

“It’s like a wind-up toy, isn’t it…just goes on and on.

“This week exposed Labor, again, for being completely out of its depth when it comes to the cost of living crisis.”
